Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and motivation to improving South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) companies through an engagement using the agency's senior managers in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled during the 2024 matric final exams.
With the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for that National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing eighty one% with the registered pupils from the schooling sector.
These learners attained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates the investment national government is making within the life of very poor and vulnerable children is yielding a beneficial effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
